                    Postal Index Number is divided into 8 Regions in India.  Pin (Postal Index Number) contains 6 digits. First one digit indicates the region. First two digits together display the sub region or one of the postal circles. First three digits together display a sorting/revenue district. The last three digits refer to the Delivery Post Office.
