Presently there are two sources to view the status of your Refund of Income Tax. One is through www.tin-nsdl.com or second is through www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. Link of tin-nsdl.com works without using user id or password whereas link of www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in works only after using user id and password. In case you have not your user id and password and you are using this site first time. New registration is also possible by user end. User can also use forget password option to get the last used user id or password.
Now, many times it has been found that income tax department has processed your refund and an SMS has also been received by you, but refund has not received by you neither in your bank account nor through postal system. Out of many reasons, there may be one reason that you have not entered Complete address in your ITR form. In case your refund has been returned by postal department there is no alternative except placing of new "Refund re-issue request" which is available under My Account in income tax e-filing site.
Requirements for submit "Refund re-issue request"
- CPC Communication Reference Number
- Refund Sequence Number (as per CPC Order)
- Date of Birth/Incorporation of Assessee.
On placing above information you may select others and place your option fro New Address to complete address for getting refund. There are many option like refund on ITR address, refund on PAN address, refund through Online transfer or refund on New address etc.
