Yes, e-TDS/e-TCS statement submission is not sufficient. Status of your return should be correct. There may be lot of errors in it such as Unmatched Challans, Pan not available with Income Tax Department, Amount does not Match, Not accepted by TIN, Different TAN etc. To avoid future correspondence with the Income Tax Department, deudctor should check himself status of his submitted e-TDS/e-TCS return and should submit correction statement accordingly.
You can check the status of the statement submitted by you at below link https://onlineservices.tin.nsdl.com/TIN/JSP/tds/linktoUnAuthorizedInput.jsp
Now, a question arise that How many times correction statements can be filed. Answer is that there is no limit for submission of correction statement of e-TDS/e-TCS return. Data should be correct. I have also submitted correction statement 6 times which can be viewed in below picture.
In above picture it is clear that original return was submitted on 08.01.2008 and then six times (on 22.01.2010, 16.09.2010,30.09.2010, 06.10.2010, 02.11.2010 and 04.11.2010) correction statements have been filed. It means e-TDS /e-TCS correction statements can be filed many times.
